Edge to Edge or All Over Quilting Patterns will eventually be available here for you to look at and choose from for your quilts. I will usually ask you to pick a few options that you like and then I will let you know if there is any reason why any of the choosen patterns may not work for your quilt once it is in hand.
Some reasons a pattern may not work for a quilt:
– The chosen pattern has lots of back tracking, meaning the pattern goes back and forth over the same path multiple times building up thread – if this is something you are okay with then this won’t be a problem but it may add to the cost of thread.
– I know from experience the pattern does not stitch out well if the size is altertered, so if your looking to expand for less quilting or make it smaller for tighter quilting then that chosen pattern may not be the best choice.
– If the quilt top has a bit of bulk to it or extra fabric from the way it was sewn and the pattern chosen has lots of swirls in it this may not be ideal as it will make it difficult for me to flatten that “extra fabric” so the quilting may not be the best.
